The 82nd San Francisco Boat Race dinner celebrates the 163rd Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race. It promises to be a fine affair in the elegant ambience of the University Club atop Nob Hill in the heart of San Francisco. The University Club is located at Powell and California Streets, adjacent to the Fairmont Hotel.

Matthew Shilvock, San Francisco Opera's new General Director, will be the distinguished guest speaker. Born in Kidderminster, England, he read music at Christ Church, University of Oxford and holds a master's degree in public administration from University of Massachusetts Amherst. Early in his career he held appointments at Houston Grand Opera, Pittsburgh Opera and Glimmerglass Opera. He became San Francisco Opera's seventh General Director on August 1, 2016 at the age of only 39.
The dinner, including wine, is $108 for adults and $98 for seniors and students. Early Bird rates are $98 for general tickets, and $93 for seniors and students.
